Matnas Yad provides much-needed help for a very unique group of people who are unable to pay for basic living necessities.
While these people would not qualify as living in dire poverty and don’t receive assistance from charity organizations already in place, their status is often just as bad. These are people in the Jewish Community that work full-time but at the end of the day, they struggle to provide with the bare minimum. For them it comes down to a choice of paying rent, or serving dinner. THEY JUST CAN’T PROVIDE BOTH!
Matnas Yad offers these people a chance to go on and brings some much-needed relief to these families. Matnas Yad helps with food, utility bills and whatever essentials are needed. For close to six years Matnas Yad has been providing warm meals for struggling families, avoided shut-off –notices from Con Edison for hundreds of families, provided winter coats for children all over the community and lit up the faces of hundreds of struggling families in our community.
Please don’t say “NO” to these kids, don’t say “Tomorrow” to these struggling families and don’t just shake your head and feel bad for them.
